ScriptAI has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no backend server operated by the developer. Your recordings, transcripts, and scripts are stored locally on your device (using Apple's SwiftData framework) and are never uploaded to any server we control. We designed the app so that, by default, everything happens on-device.
By default, ScriptAI transcribes your audio locally on your device using WhisperKit, an open-source speech-recognition model. The model file itself is downloaded once from Hugging Face when you first use the feature — this download does not include or transmit any of your audio, recordings, or personal data. Once downloaded, transcription happens entirely offline and on-device. We never see or receive your audio for this transcription mode.
When your device supports Apple Intelligence, ScriptAI uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to generate titles and summaries for your recordings. This processing happens entirely on your device; no data is sent anywhere for this feature.
If you choose to enable cloud transcription for higher accuracy, your audio file is uploaded, over an encrypted connection, to ElevenLabs' Scribe transcription API. To avoid embedding raw provider API keys in the app, this request is routed through AIProxy, a request-relay service. According to AIProxy's own privacy policy, it does not log or store the content of successful requests or responses (only error responses and basic usage metadata, such as file size and status codes, are retained for billing/abuse-prevention purposes). Your audio is then processed by ElevenLabs according to their own privacy policy: elevenlabs.io/privacy.
For certain features — such as generating a title/summary from a transcript obtained via cloud transcription, or when Apple Intelligence is unavailable on your device, or when using the in-app AI chat — ScriptAI sends only the relevant text (never your raw audio) to OpenAI or Google's Gemini API, again routed through AIProxy under the same no-content-logging arrangement described above. These providers' own data-handling policies apply to that specific request:
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store. Purchase validation and entitlement tracking are handled by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymized device/purchase identifier and purchase event (e.g. "a subscription was purchased at this time, in this country") — never your name, content, or any personal information. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
ScriptAI does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK. The only data that may exist is Apple's own built-in, fully anonymized analytics (crash reports, session length, device type, locale), and only if you've opted in via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share [App] Analytics. This data cannot be used to identify you and is not something the developer can trace back to you individually.
If you email us for support ([email protected]), we receive whatever information you choose to include in that email (e.g. your email address and description of the issue). We use this only to respond to your request and do not share it with third parties.
